Dear Lightcone Infrastructure Team,
I am applying for the Campus Generalist role because I have spent my entire life cultivating the exact blend of high-stakes strategic ownership, consistent operational execution, and fierce conviction in the importance of safety research. I am convinced that Lightcone's mission will be one of the defining efforts of the 21st century.
My background is split into two defining chapters. In my 20s, I earned a Master's in Sociology and an MBA, which I leveraged to lead cross-functional teams, navigate C-suite dynamics, and consult for high-growth startups. This taught me to move fast in complex environments, balance strategy with execution, and take full ownership of outcomes. In my 30s, I pivoted radically—diving into diving, traveling for two years, and building my understanding of the world through direct human connection and contemplative practice. This journey cultivated resilience, humility, and the ability to relate authentically across cultures.
Crucially, I bring an incredibly rich, hands-on relationship with artificial intelligence. I do not just use AI; it is my partner in science and execution, collaborating with AI assistants to solve complex problems, create novel frameworks, and accelerate learning in real time. I have built multiple AI-powered applications and understand both the transformative potential and the existential risks.
Furthermore, I have spent the last year working intensely on a novel mathematical framework designed to provide AI with an internal baseline, drastically reducing both hallucinations and path-dependent reasoning errors. This work sits at the intersection of cognitive science, formal systems, and practical AI alignment—and I believe it could be genuinely impactful.
Lightcone's motto, Nullius in verba, resonates with me deeply. My non-traditional trajectory proves that I think for myself, challenge baseline assumptions, and am completely comfortable working in uncertainty. I don't need external validation; I am driven by problems that matter.
I am fully prepared to relocate to Berkeley, immerse myself in your sprint-based startup culture, and dedicate my cross-disciplinary skillset to safeguarding humanity's future.
A seasoned professional-gone-traveler with high-profile people and project-management experience. I bring a unique blend of analytical rigor and practical leadership, informed by deep exposure to cognitive science, international perspectives, and direct experience navigating complex organizational dynamics. I am equally comfortable designing long-term strategy and executing day-to-day operations, and I thrive in environments that reward ownership, speed, and intellectual honesty.
To share amazing moments together with clients and staff alike. My hope is to work together with likeminded people on something beneficial to the world. I'd like to to apply my understanding of culture, organization and technology to the benefit of the organization, so that each day feels like progress toward a vision we collectively believe in.
